As the Argyle Night Market draws to a close, we will once again be honoring the memory of John Vietnam Nguyen (JVN), a Hip Hop artist who tragically lost his life saving a friend from drowning. Each year, his friends keep his legacy thriving with a concert at the final night market. JVN accomplished so much with a positive attitude that inspired and encouraged youth and adults alike. Join us for JVN Night as several youth performers, hip hop artists, and friends of John will be taking the stage in his memory. One life, one love.

A collective of poets & their manual typewriters whose mission is to appear around the city in public places - street festivals, museums, libraries, theaters, & events - to provide their patrons with a magical, unexpected, unpretentious, & decontextualized encounter with poetry. No requested topic is too big or too small, too funny or too sad, too silly or too serious.

The Chicago Drum Festival is a multi-cultural arts program showcasing drumming traditions from around the world. This collaborative performance strives to expand the awareness and appreciation of diverse musical traditions that exist beyond Western music.
Programs: (1) Korean drumming by KPAC, (2) Brazilian music by Chicago Samba, (3) African drumming by Ayodele Drum & Dance, (4) Japanese Taiko by Tsukasa Taiko, and (5) Jam by all musicians.

Due to the forecast of severe weather, we are canceling tonight’s Argyle Night Market (Thursday, July 24) to ensure the safety of our vendors, performers, and attendees.
We know how much this community looks forward to the Market each week, and we’re just as disappointed. We’ll be back next Thursday with more food, music, and fun on Argyle Street.
