Even with going back and forth to Springfield for a busy last month of session, May was still filled with incredible community events throughout the district! Here’s a look back at some of our favorite moments:

🛝 I celebrated with the Goethe Elementary community and Northwest Side elected officials for the ribbon-cutting of Goethe’s new field and playground.

🎉 My staff joined Palenque LSNA for their annual Parent Mentor Program Celebration, honoring the incredible, hardworking program graduates from schools across the district like Brentano, Darwin, Goethe, Kelvyn Park HS, and Logan Square.

🚲 My office attended the 4th annual Connecting Neighborhoods Solidarity Bike Ride. It was wonderful seeing neighbors come together to ride through the vibrant neighborhoods of Hermosa, Belmont Cragin, and Logan Square.

Illinois progressives won a huge victory with the Digital Ad Tax, raising over $1 billion each year from big tech corporations that profit from our data without paying taxes on it.

But the Trump administration is still pushing for tax cuts for the wealthy while threatening SNAP, health care, education, and essential services.

Join State Senator Graciela Guzman, Senator Robert Martwick, State Representative Lindsey LaPointe, State Representative Lilian Jiménez, State Rep. Will Guzzardi - 39th District, and State Representative Eva-Dina Delgado for a state budget debrief town hall on how we can work together to protect our state from federal chaos in the next year.

The Illinois Court-Based Rental Assistance Program (CBRAP) provides emergency rental assistance to tenants and housing providers/landlords across Illinois who have pending cases in eviction court. Eligible applicants may qualify for up to $10,000 that can be applied to past due rent, up to $700 for court costs, and up to two months' future rent to prevent housing displacement.

CBRAP is accepting new applications for a limited time beginning Wednesday, May 27, through Monday, June 22, 2026.

El Programa de Asistencia para el Alquiler Basado en los Tribunales de Illinois (CBRAP) ofrece ayuda de emergencia para el alquiler a inquilinos y proveedores de vivienda/propietarios de todo Illinois que tengan casos pendientes en los tribunales de desalojo. Los solicitantes que cumplan los requisitos pueden recibir hasta 10 000 dólares para pagar el alquiler atrasado, hasta 700 dólares para gastos judiciales y hasta dos meses de alquiler futuro para evitar el desalojo.

☀🥪 Summer EBT is back to help eligible families buy food during the summer months. Each eligible school-aged child will receive a one-time benefit of $120. Most eligible children will receive benefits automatically, while some households may need to apply.
