The Swedenborg Library plans to be open Wednesday June 3 and Friday June 5 assuming transit is running to the Loop. Normal hours are 1-5 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays.

The Swedenborg Library will be closed the week of June 27 due to travel to the annual convention of Swedenborgian Churches. The Library will reopen for normal hours on July 6, 2016.

Upcoming Events at the Swedenborg Library:

Wed. Aug. 19: DIVINE PROVIDENCE DISCUSSION group with Rev. Robt McCluskey participating via Google Hangouts from Wayfarer's Chapel in Palos Verdes. 6:45 pm - 7:45 pm. Doors open at 6 pm; free will offering. We will discuss sections 322-326 of Swedenborg's "Divine Providence."

Friday, Aug. 28: LOOP IONS COMMUNITY GROUP will meet at the Swedenborg Library to view and discuss the video "Chaos, Creativity, and Cosmic Consciousness" featuring Rupert Sheldrake, Terence McKenna, and Ralph Abraham. $7 members / $10 non-members payable to Loop IONS Community Group.

Wed. Sept. 2: DIVINE PROVIDENCE DISCUSSION. We will discuss sections 327-330. 6:45 pm - 7:45 pm.

Wed. Sept. 16: DIVINE PROVIDENCE DISCUSSION. This is the final session on this work of Swedenborg's. We will discuss sections 331-340.

Friday, Sept. 18: COMMON GROUND. Ahmad Sadri will discuss "IRAN–NO LONGER A PARIAH?" The historic Nuclear Agreement reached between Iran and the P5+1 on July 14 was groundbreaking. It promises to cause a paradigm shift in the Iran/US relations and a realignment of regional alliances of the US and Iran. Sadri will explore the historical roots of the 12-year nuclear negotiations and reflect on their far-reaching social and political consequences. 7-9 pm $10 payable to Common Ground will be collected at the door.

The Loop IONS group has informed us that their scheduled talk at the Swedenborg Library on Friday, June 6 with Dr. Ian Thompson has been cancelled due to a death in Dr. Thompson's family. This program will be rescheduled at a future date. Our condolences are extended to Dr. Thompson and his family.
