One Book, One Chicago is Chicago Public Library's citywide reading program. The book is just the beginning!
One Book, One Chicago seeks to cultivate a culture of reading in our city by reinforcing the importance and fun of reading and highlighting the benefits of reading together as a community. Annually a book is selected and promoted to all of Chicago. Each year, we offer you a chance to explore a theme from multiple perspectives, as recounted through personal experience, imagined in literature, presented in politics, or synthesized in music and art.
