On behalf of the Student Engagement Team, we are excited to share a global opportunity for your students — the International Python Olympiad 2026 (IPO), a fully online coding competition for students aged 8 to 18 years.

Guided by our philosophy “Think. Code. Conquer.”, this initiative encourages students to move beyond using technology to creating it, through hands-on Python projects.

The International Python Olympiad is a global, individual participation competition where students design and develop original Python-based projects according to their age group.

Students can participate in the following categories:

* Beginner (8–10 years):Number Guessing Game
* Junior (11–13 years): Quiz Game
* Middle (14–16 years):To-Do List Manager
* Senior (17–18 years): Chatbot Assistant

Registration & Submission Deadline: 15th July 2026
Participation Fee: USD $15

Attention 5th-8th grade girls' families: This summer, Female Strong is excited to host our second annual, completely free, week-long Entrepreneurship Bootcamp at Southside STEM Station, July 27-31. from 9am-3pm.

This experience will include confidence building, public speaking skills, and exploring what entrepreneurship means.

Congratulations to Superstars Numa B. and Jehan S. who won a 3rd place Team Trophy in the Chess Wizards Tournament. This was Skinner’s first time competing in the chess tournament. We are so proud of you Numa and Jehan!

Greetings SuperStar Parents and Guardians,

We hope this notice finds you in the SuperStar Spirit!! The Field Day Committee is pleased to present to you a glimpse into the schedule for Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

For Pre-K to 3rd, we are seeking Parent Volunteers to have a group of 5-6 students to get them from station to station and to make them have an amazing day.

We will return to you with a deeper breakdown of events in the coming days.

Black Girls READ Study is recruiting Black girls ages 13–17 in Chicago for a summer Black girl literacy space centered on identity, homeplace, and Black literature.

This is perfect for avid readers and those who may need more exposure to literacy practices.

Extra! Extra! A Night to Remember! 🗞️

The curtain has officially risen, and Newsies Jr. has taken the Skinner stage by storm! Our opening night was nothing short of a "headline" success, fueled by the incredible energy, precision, and heart of our Superstar cast and crew. From the powerhouse vocals to the high-flying choreography, the talent displayed on that stage tonight was truly world-class.

To Mrs. Dennis, Ms. Horn, FOSW, and ALL parents and partners who supported this effort, THANK YOU for your tireless dedication and artistic direction, and for inspiring our Superstars to give their absolute best!
