Guidance for Talking with Children After a Traumatic Event
Adults have a crucial role in restoring safety and normalcy for children after they experience a traumatic event like the shooting in Highland Park. On Tuesday, July 5 at 7:30pm, JCFS clinicians will present developmentally appropriate guidance and tools for healthy communication during stressful circumstances. Registration is free of charge.

Evening of Support for the Highland Park Community
Led by trauma informed experts, JCFS Chicago will be offering an evening of support on Wednesday, July 6 at 7:00pm. All are welcome to attend this virtual event focused on healing through words of comfort, conversation, and music. Registration is free of charge.

More details and registration information for both the webinar about talking with children and the evening of support will be available tomorrow on JCFS.org and JCFS Chicago social media channels.

The JCFS Chicago Warm Line phone connection is available to provide assistance for anyone affected by the Highland Park shooting who does not have an urgent need and is looking for someone to talk to about their emotional distress. Call the warm line to connect to an emotional support professional between 9am and 5pm Monday through Thursday, 9am-4pm Fridays at 855.275.5237.
