🚨 If you have been looking for a way to get involved and protect democracy — this is it! 🚨
The Midterm Elections are less than three weeks away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and we are seeking nonpartisan Election Protection volunteers to support voters on Election Day.
Your presence at the polls has a direct impact on whether someone can successfully cast their ballot. You can be the difference between someone being turned away over a misunderstanding and a voter successfully having their voice heard.
There are two opportunities to help Illinois and Indiana voters on Nov. 3:
1. Serve virtually as a nonpartisan call center volunteer, answering calls to the 866-OUR-VOTE hotline. Hotline volunteers answer voters’ questions and help them work through problems at the polls to ensure they can vote and have that vote counted. Call center volunteers must be legal professionals, such as attorneys, retired attorneys, and law students.
2. Serve in person as a nonpartisan field volunteer. As a field volunteer, you will support community partner programs working on protecting access to the ballot on Election Day. Field volunteers do not have to be legal professionals.
Beyond answering questions and addressing problems at the polls, nonpartisan Election Protection volunteers contribute to a pro-voter environment on Election Day and can help to ease tensions and problem-solve in a way that centers the voter’s experience.
