Cook County residents and businesses impacted by the July 25 - 28, 2025 storms and flooding now have access to federal recovery assistance. The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved a disaster declaration, making low-interest disaster loans available to help cover damages not paid for by insurance.
Who can apply:
• Homeowners and renters (repairs, personal property losses)
• Businesses and certain nonprofits (physical damage and economic losses)
Loan amounts:
• Up to $500,000 for home repairs
• Up to $100,000 for personal property
•Up to $2 million for businesses
Deadlines:
• Physical damage: June 22, 2026
• Economic injury (businesses): Jan. 25, 2027

This paid, full-time 7-week opportunity (June 22–August 7) places Student Administrative Aide IIIs in Offices Under the President, where they gain hands-on experience providing administrative and project support across County departments.
Interns contribute to daily operations, support program activities, and learn how local government serves residents.
