SEIU Local 73 SEIU Local 73 represents more than 38,000 workers in Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Welcome to SEIU Local 73’s page.

Our goal is to maintain a space where our members, supporters, volunteers, and staff can share information and ideas to build a stronger voice for workers in our facilities and communities. We’re always glad to hear from you. We encourage comments that:

The Board of Education have refused to let everyone in to tonight’s public meeting. Instead, forcing people into the gym to watch the meeting on TV. And in a flagrant violation of first amendment rights, they have also refused to let the news media in the room. Perhaps because they intend to oust Board Member Sarah Kaliski-Roll.

Parents, students, teachers, and custodians are out tonight to demand the return of outsourced Local 73 custodians to Blue Island schools. SEIU Local 73 is calling on the board to take a vote to restore the custodians to their positions and to make the schools clean and safe with its union workers.
