Celebrating 31 Years of empowering girls, transforming communities and building legacy.

Today marks a powerful milestone for Demoiselle 2 Femme. 31 years of service, sisterhood, and shaping the lives of girls and young women across Chicago and beyond.

For more than three decades, D2F has stood as a beacon of hope, leadership, and empowerment. What began as a mission to guide adolescent girls through some of life’s most complex stages has grown into a movement that has touched generations. Through innovative programming, mentorship, education, and unwavering advocacy, D2F has equipped young women to walk boldly in purpose and possibility.

As we honor this anniversary, we celebrate:

• The thousands of girls whose lives have been transformed.
• The alumnae who continue to lead, uplift, and serve their communities.
• The partners and supporters who have fueled our mission.
• The dedicated leaders and staff who have carried this vision forward for 31 years.

This anniversary is more than a celebration of time. It is a celebration of impact of the countless stories, victories, and breakthroughs that collectively embody the heart of D2F.

As we look ahead, we are excited to announce that 2026 will usher in a new era of revitalized programming, deeper community partnerships, and expanded opportunities to support the next generation of young women. The work continues, and the best is yet to come.

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Bishop William H. Allen, a foundational figure in the creation and success of Demoiselle 2 Femme. In 1994, Demoiselle 2 Femme was born under Pastor Allen's leadership. He gave our founders, Sherida Morrison and Romanetha Walker, the green light to meet with our first group of 14 girls, laying the foundation for an organization that has now served over 7,000 girls.

Bishop Allen and his late wife, Dr. Wylonn Allen, were supporters of D2F in our early years, and we were honored to present them with the "Parachute Packer" award for their unwavering support. Today, we proudly reflect on the impact of their leadership, knowing that it is because of their leadership and discernment that D2F has awarded over $65,000 in academic scholarships and supported over 1,000 girls in achieving their college degrees.

As we continue to serve and empower the next generation of girls, we stand on the shoulders of giants like Bishop William H. Allen. His legacy lives on in the work we do every day. Rest in peace, Bishop Allen. Your legacy is forever etched in our hearts.

Today, we celebrate our 29th anniversary! On December 10, 1994, our founders invited 14 girls to join a ministry program designed for them. Now, 7,000+ girls later, our new board of directors represents the vision of D2F and, more importantly, God's purpose. We've been quiet but diligently working; please stay tuned for a full update in January 2024 as we share the launch of a new era of D2F. We are celebrating our mission, "transitioning girls to successful women!"

Today is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, a day to raise awareness for & examine HIV/AIDS’s impact on women & girls. Black women are disproportionately impacted by HIV – in 2019, Black women made up 7% of the overall U.S. population, but 11% of new HIV diagnoses. This is not ok! Be educated on the facts, especially regarding heterosexual transmission and get tested💕💜.

On December 10th, 1994, 14 girls were inducted as the first members of Demoiselle 2 Femme. Thousands of girls later, we are yet committed to transitioning girls to successful women. We are launching some new initiatives in 2023, so continue to follow us on social media, and watch for the unveiling of our new website.
