Who is the Youth Liaison?
The UPAC Summer Youth Liaison is a young person aged 12-17 who is motivated to represent the youth of our community and meaningfully contribute to the 2026 summertime programming at Unity Park. The Youth Liaison will attend monthly UPAC meetings, held in person at Unity Park, contributing their perspective as our full roster of summer events is planned and implemented. They may also participate in virtual officers’ meetings, gaining exposure to organizational leadership and decision-making processes.
Throughout the summer, the Youth Liaison will take an active role in planning and executing several events, culminating in their integral participation in UPAC’s annual Lucha Libre in the Park/en el Parque wrestling event. With the guidance and support of UPAC, the Youth Liaison will propose a project or activity for Lucha Libre or another event. The Youth Liaison will also assist with other youth-focused events such as the “SnailedIt!” snail races and “Art in the Park.”
The Youth Liaison will be awarded a $500 stipend to be paid following Lucha Libre on September 5, 2026 and satisfaction of the commitments outlined below.
