Volunteers helping older residents of the Edgewater neighborhood on Chicago's north side with small tasks to help them maintain independent living
A non-profit organization of volunteers assisting older adults in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago, Heart to Heart provides services such as transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, friendly visits, phone calls, and well-being checks. We also provide information about and referrals to government and social service agencies that provide additional assistance.

Fortunately the snow has been featherweight in Chicago, but it still can get icy if it gets trampled down. Older adults and residents with disabilities can get help clearing their walks with the city's Snow Corps volunteers at this site. Those without computer access can call Heart to Heart and we'll be happy to assist!

No need to wait until November 6! Chicago voters can cast their ballot at any Early Voting site in the city Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. up to Nov. 3. In our area these locations include the Broadway Armory, Truman College, Pottawattomie Park and Warren Park.
Board of Election Commissioners for the City of Chicago Voters registered in the City of Chicago may use any Early Voting site in the city, regardless of where the voters live.
Applications for absentee ballots for the November Election are due November 1, and official ballots must be postmarked, if mailed, or be dropped off by November 5. So start today!

As government cuts affect more and more social services, Heart to Heart is needed more than ever to connect volunteers with our older neighbors who need a little help. But now we need help from our community to secure a matching grant from a foundation that will help us continue our work!

Did you open your heart today? Volunteers like this brave one at Granville and Broadway fanned out around the city for Misericordia Heart of Mercy's Candy Day. Generous donors were rewarded with jelly beans this year.
