St. James Food Pantry

Today, our clients were treated to a delicious Chick-Fil-A lunch! We thank Chick-Fil-A South Loop for donating the meal.

Over 180 individuals enjoyed a Christmas meal at St. James. Thanks to chef Dave Samber and The Polo Inn Bridgeport USA for providing the meal for the dinner. We are also grateful to Lainey for coordinating volunteers and managing the event. Thank you also to all the volunteers and Santa!

Our partnership with the South Loop Chick-Fil-A was recently featured in the news.

Chick-fil-A turns surplus food into 8,500 meals for Chicagoans in need Chick-fil-A’s Chicago restaurants are donating thousands of surplus meals to local food banks as part of a broader initiative to address food insecurity in the city.

The annual St. James Food Pantry Christmas dinner wouldn't be the same without the support of The Polo Inn Bridgeport USA. Thank you Chef Dave for your generosity! And thank you to Lainey for recruiting volunteers and managing all the various aspects of the dinner. We are also grateful to all the volunteers for serving the guests so well. Recently the Chicago White Sox organized a food drive for St. James Food Pantry. Several staff members of the Chicago White Sox dropped off the food today. Thank you to Chicago White Sox and their amazing staff!

We are grateful for the generosity and joy that were shared at our annual benefit on Saturday, October 26th! In a special way, we would like to thank The Polo Inn Bridgeport USA, Medical Director on Demand, Dalcamo Funeral Home, VanderCook College of Music, Revolution Brewing, Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant, SOPHY Hotel Hyde Park and Sports Facilities Authority for making the event a success.

Last Sunday St. James partnered with Rotary Chicago Near South, Illinois Institute of Technology , Old St. Mary's Catholic Church, and VanderCook College of Music to host its annual Thanksgiving dinner for Seniors. About 70 seniors attended the event and 77 meals were delivered to homebound seniors. Thanks to all the donors and volunteers who made this possible. We are grateful to Revolution Brewing for being part of this year's Jazzin' to Feed event. We also thank Polo Inn for providing food, and Coopers Hawk Winery & Restaurant for wine. Jazzin' to Feed is known for celebrating cultures around the world. This year's theme is Madagascar and we will have an amazing Madagascar menu and great African Music! See you Saturday!

Thank you to all the volunteer groups that are helping distribute food today. De La Salle Institute, St. Therese Chinese Catholic School - Chicago, IIT, Jones College Prep, Br. Br. David Darst Center, St. Ignatius College Prep, UIC, and Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.

Thank you so much to Br. David Darst Center for bringing 14 amazing volunteers today from San Francisco! They were a big help for the food pantry today. We really appreciate your hard work.

Thank you so much to the team at W. E. O'Neil Construction and our Wednesday volunteers. These college kids were amazing today. They helped more than 80 people get served. Way to go!
