As we count down to our Builders Day Celebration on April 26, we are honored to present our final awardee, the Ignatian Volunteer Corps (IVC) – Chicago Chapter, recipient of the Accompaniment Award.

IVC Chicago connects experienced adults aged 50+ with meaningful volunteer opportunities rooted in service, reflection, and social justice. Through strong partnerships with local nonprofits, IVC members walk alongside communities facing poverty, homelessness, isolation, or systemic injustice.

We are especially grateful to have two IVC members who volunteer with Taller de José twice a week, offering consistent presence, care, and support to TDJ.

We’re honored to celebrate IVC Chicago for embodying the true spirit of accompaniment.

As we count down to our Builders Day Celebration, we're proud to introduce our second awardee, Anna Sandoval, recipient of the Companion Award.

Anna is a Senior Research Specialist at University of Illinois Chicago with over 25 years of research management experience. In recent years, her work has focused on advancing health equity and improving health outcomes across Chicago communities.

She is a proud resident of Pilsen and having grown up in an immigrant neighborhood, and seeing the need for the community and neighbors navigate complex systems, she contributes her time to advance the mission of Taller de José.
