The VSA has been very active in the UIC Chicago community through volunteer work and partnerships with the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center.
The UIC Veterans Student Association was reactivated in 2007 after a campus absence of four years due to deployments to Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

How Higher Ed Can Better Support Military Students With a potential increase of veteran students attending college for the first time, there are protocols that will help student matriculate and prepare them for academic success.

I just wanted to remind everyone about the Illinois Warrior Summit and 5th Annual Welcome Home Celebration TOMORROW on August 9, 2012. It will be from 10:00am until 3:00pm at the UIC Forum (725 West Roosevelt Road and Halsted Street).
The summit will include 40 employers providing job opportunities, 30 VA program service stations, VA onsite physicals, healthcare registration, and more. Also, there will be giveaways for sports tickets! Please see the attached flyer for details.
