As we prepare for additional storms moving through our area, please take a moment to read today’s newsletter with updates from Streets and San and what you can do in the event of storm damage.
1st Ward Storm Updates Dear neighbors, Following yesterday's severe storms, the Department of Streets and Sanitation continues to address blocked roadways, downed trees, and other storm-related hazards across the city. Streets and Sanitation Forestry crews are out this evening to address tree emergencies. If you encounter a downed tree, take caution and report it to 311. Please be patient as crews work through requests citywide.
Riley O’Neil was a committed and joyful public servant who improved the lives of countless Chicagoans. His death is an immense loss for our city. Honoring his life must include investing in proper infrastructure and doing so proactively. Rest in peace, Riley.
Street Closure Notice: Please be advised that eastbound traffic on Superior St will be closed between Wood and Paulina next Friday, June 19th between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a crane lift. (Saturday, June 20th will be added in case of bad weather on Friday.)
Please note that No Parking will be enforced from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both sides of the street. Addresses affected will be 1700 through 1759 W. Superior St. Residents will not be able to leave after 9:00 AM due to the crane causing a full closure. Street access and parking will be restored once work is complete.

This afternoon I stopped by Brentano Math & Science Academy at school dismissal to talk to parents about the new neighborhood greenway and pedestrian improvements coming soon! Check out the flyer below for information on the project including:
- Resurfacing of Schubert Ave
- New stop signs and speed humps
- All traffic lanes and parking maintained
- Bump-out at California and Schubert to make crossing California shorter and safer
