Thank you, Cook County.

I’m honored and deeply grateful for your support and for the chance to keep doing this work alongside you.

Together, we’ve built something special: a county government that shows up as a true partner, advocate, and ally for our residents. And doing so, we’ve done what others haven’t.

That progress is real and it matters in people’s lives every day.

Now, we keep going.

We’re going to protect what we’ve built, continue to move forward, and make sure Cook County remains a place where residents in every community feels safe, supported and included.

I am proud to have the support of Illinois’ Congressional Democratic leaders:

Senator Dick Durbin
Rep. Jonathan Jackson
Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García
Rep. Danny Davis
Rep. Jan Schakowsky
Rep. Delia Ramírez

These are pillars of our communities who have dedicated their lives to fighting for working families across Illinois. I am grateful for their support and committed to continuing to work together to defend our Democratic values in Cook County.

Lawless federal agents are terrorizing our communities at President Trump's orders. We need accountability and we need to end ICE.

01/24/2026

Minneapolis is facing yet another deadly consequence of a federal agenda built on terror and cruelty.

Untrained, masked militarized forces are inflicting violence, fear, and trauma on our streets, acting at the direct orders of President Donald Trump and his allies. This is not law enforcement; it is federal brutality.

We will not stay silent. Local governments, we must stand united against an administration that sends armed forces into our communities with no accountability, transparency, or respect for human life.

It is time to abolish ICE. It is time to end federal occupation of our communities.

Grateful for the endorsement of Democratic Party of Oak Park - DPOP and Senate President Don Harmon. Thank you to everyone who came out today - the energy in the room was incredible! Together, we’re standing strong against Trump and his allies for our communities and the services they rely on.

Today’s murder by ICE in Minneapolis is another consequence of Trump’s agenda of terror and cruelty. This isn’t law enforcement, it’s federal brutality that puts families and communities at risk. We cannot stay silent.
