Some photos from our Thriving Congregations Retreat in Bloomington-Normal, IL! Congregations got together to collaborate, brainstorm and connect over how to bring environmental justice ideas to their communities. We got to spend time in nature and in conversation!

So excited for this cohort!

We believe people deserve to know about hidden pollution in your home so that households can take steps to protect their health. That’s why we partnered with citizen scientists to test 100 homes for health-harming air pollution.

Join us for our monthly call next week on Thursday with Rev. Kim Crutcher.

Reverend Kim Crutcher is a community herbalist, licensed psychotherapist, artist, and Interfaith Minister. Using a blend of evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed approaches, culturally sensitive frameworks, and traditional healing practices she offers therapy, education, and consultations to individuals and groups.

As Herbalism Conductor for Chicago’s Urban Growers Collective, she shares over 30 years of passion about herbs, systems thinking, and healing. Kim works to support UGC’s mission of growing food to build and support healthy communities through workshops, healing events and a three year apprenticeship program.

She uses the term ‘Conductor’ in homage to Harriet Tubman and as a reminder that redemption and freedom are available when individuals are offered an opportunity to come into relationship with the natural world.

Wow! Our team could not be more grateful for everyone that joined us these last 2 days for the Annual Environment & Spirituality Summit. You listened, you asked questions, and you took the time to reflect on the topic of Grounded Resistance. We had over 2,500 registrants, over 100 sponsors, and over 60 watch parties for the Keynote Session with Bill McKibben across the nation.

A huge thank you to our wonderful speakers - Matthias Beier, Ph.D., Valarie Kaur, Mary Evelyn Tucker and Bill McKibben from Third Act! Your wisdom will stay with us and we’re excited to continue exploring ideas you brought to us during your sessions.

If you missed the summit, please register and you will get the recordings and speaker resources for free: aes-summit.org.

You can also view the livestream on our YouTube.

Please stay connected to Faith in Place! We have virtual calls each month where we deep dive into important topics with speakers. We’re also planning a 2027 Action Week (stay tuned!)

Thank you!

"It does strike me as beautiful and powerful that we get to understand this world as the complicated, buzzing, mysterious, cruel, God-haunted place that it is - a museum of divine intent, of extraordinary meaning - and that we are the ones who get to try and do what we can to preserve as much of it, as much of creation as we still can."
