It was widely reported by Sun Times, WTTW and others that a small group of City Council members have negotiated the terms of sale/Concession Agreement of CPM, LLC to Stonepeak including that "the sale of Omni Air must be "confirmed via a certified document following federal approvals". Open questions we still have are:
- Can Stonepeak re-buy Omni Air or its successor or is it completely precluded?
- What are federal approvals necessary for sale and is there a possibility that it can be blocked?
- How long will it take Stonepeak to complete the sale of Omni Air?

If you or someone you know experienced or witnessed misconduct from federal immigration agents, you can file a report with the Chicago Police Department, and they are required to investigate. Next week, we are hosting a Train the Trainer workshop on Filing Police Reports, so you can learn best practices for documentation and providing evidence, legal and ethical considerations, and the importance of doing a risk assessment before reporting.

We continue to see increases in ICE activity this week, including activity around schools and workplaces on the northwest and southwest side of the city and the west suburbs. We’ve also seen reports of ICE using CPD property for staging—if you see any potential collaboration between ICE and CPD you can report it to chicagocopa.org/complaints. Follow organizations like ICIRR and Organización Hijos de Migrantes to receive alerts on ICE activity in your area, and connect with your local rapid response team, some of which are listed below!
