Attend PCRF NJ's free Virtual Benefit event this Sunday.
Hello PCRF-NJ Friends & Supporters! We hope you are all doing well.
During this time, we understand that for the safety of our community, we cannot hold in-person events. That’s why we are hosting a virtual benefit on Sunday, 8/23, which will be hosted on Zoom.
Our NJ chapter is taking on a project of creating a healthcare and dental clinic in Khaldia, Jordan which is located close to Zaatari Refugee Camp. It is the largest camp for both Palestinian and Syrian refugees. The center lacks medical equipment & general resources to provide care to people in the region. Our goal is to provide support through the procurement of much-needed medical equipment and provide professional training to medical staff through PCRF non-surgical missions.
The benefit will be an evening of entertainment and giving back. We will hear from Steve Sosebee, CEO & Founder of PCRF, who will provide exciting updates on PCRF’s recent developments and discuss the upcoming creation of a Healthcare & Dental Clinic in Jordan, which will serve refugees and all communities in need. Additionally, we will hear from Sahar Alrayyes, DDS, who will share her first-hand experience as a dentist providing pediatric dental care through PCRF. The event will feature some of the most talented performers from across the country, including Nina Kharoufeh (comedian), Chris Gazaleh (artist), Tariq Luthun (poet), and Zach Matari (singer/musician).
We ask that you please join us on 8/23! Please register for free at www.pcrf.net/event/nj (clickable link can be found in our profile bio). At this link, please feel free to make a tax-deductible donation to support the creation of this clinic.
Thank you for your support & looking forward to coming together on Sunday evening for this great cause!

Chicago Loop Alliance presents: Downtown Futures Series: Resetting the Urban University in a Pandemic World
Thursday, July 30, 2020 | 10-11:15 a.m. CDT
https://loopchicago.com/join/member-events/downtown-futures-series/
Join Salma and her colleagues in a webinar about the future of Universities during the Pandemic.
Downtown Chicago is home to more than 20 universities, 15,000 faculty, and as many as 64,000 students; higher education plays a major role in the economic life of the Chicago Loop.
This past March, things began to change. Our local colleges and universities went online seemingly overnight and left their campuses and neighborhoods empty. Fast forward to today, and it’s a full court press to the fall as our local institutions are preparing for students and faculty to return.
What will this fall semester look like, and how will the urban amenity, one of the biggest assets for Chicago’s higher education community, transform to address a world still facing the realities of a pandemic? What health precautions will be necessary to satisfy parents, students, faculty, and neighborhood residents? What will be the impacts on surrounding Loop retail, entertainment, and food and beverage businesses?
Since 2004, Chicago Loop Alliance has measured the economic impact of universities in the Loop. We’ve invited our esteemed panelists for a discussion about what that economic impact will look like in the near future and in the long term.
