We’ve met several seniors who would like the friendship of an LBFE volunteer and would benefit immensely from regular visits. We just need the visiting volunteers. Do you know an older adult (70+) in Chicago, Northwest Indiana, or Kane & DuPage counties who is aging alone? Someone who rarely has visitors or anyone to chat with? Consider referring them to LBFE! Make a new friend this summer—become an LBFE volunteer. Visiting volunteering is a flexible and mutually beneficial opportunity to build a one-on-one friendship with an older adult. Volunteers also drive and accompany older adults to events, help serve meals and prepare for parties, outings and holiday celebrations. Happy birthday to all our older friends born in May! We celebrated at a monthly birthday party with lunch, cake, presents, friendship, and fun. Friends who can’t attend parties will receive a special birthday visit from a caring volunteer or LBFE staff member, ensuring that every birthday is celebrated!
