The Stopgap bill, providing funding for 18 months, was passed by the General Assembly and signed by the Governor. It includes funding for the Illinois Welcoming Centers, the Immigrant Integration Services, the Latino Family Commission, youth services, and many other initiatives that are important to Latino families across the state. Thank you Senator Iris Y. Martinez and State Rep. Lisa Hernandez, co-chairs, and to all of the members of the Legislative Latino Caucus for championing the priorities of the Latino community.

We stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ community and in mourning with the many Latino mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, spouses, family and friends in Orlando who lost a loved one in yesterday's violent assault on freedom. Our friends at ALMA Chicago have information on today's vigil at 7:00 pm Halsted & Roscoe and a list of resources. Thank you for your continued leadership and support rights and equity.
