We are a new organization based in Chicago that grew out of the Occupy rebellion and whose goal is t For more than two centuries it has served its masters well.
Democracy for the USA's page is all about education and power -- specifically, educating American citizens about the true nature of the United States of America as an oligarchy...NOT A DEMOCRACY!! The founders did not intend to establish a democracy in which the average citizen actually had a voice in government -- so they conceived and implemented an oligarchy that protected the interests of the
wealthy elite. However, the economic travesty that nearly crippled the nation in 2008 opened the eyes of many the "average" Americans we mentioned earlier, with some citizens even taking to the streets and occupying public spaces to put a spotlight on the criminal acts of the top "economically"-speaking 1% of the U.S. population that controls the vast majority of the wealth of the nation. People watched as banks which were deemed "too big to fail" were bailed-out of the financial straits they created through their own avarice and underhanded use of complicated financial instruments such as the infamous "deriviatives" and bundled mortgages that weren't worth the paper they were printed on. The national treasury and many individual's personal savings and retirements were decimated in the process. As the dust settles, many economists say we're worse off today than before the 2008 debacle. A number of the institutions that were "too big to fail" are actually larger in the aftermath of the "recession." So from the ashes of the Occupy rebellion -- which, in the meantime since the initial Zucatti Park occupation in NYC has lost momentum and direction -- Ted Aranda and I were compelled to found dUSA, or Democracy for the USA. To see for yourself if we're on the right track--and to add comments of your own, please feel free to visit our http://democracyfortheUSA.org website and give it some serious thought. Alright? Thank you. You'll only have yourself to thank if you join the dialogue about where to go from here. The status quo has proven itself untenable and a pair of professors recently released the results of a 10-year study in which they tracked 1700+ bills through U.S. Congress and came to the (not surprising) conclusion that moneyed interests get what they are after in the area of legislation passed while the average citizen has "little or no effect" on legislative outcomes. WE CAN PUT A STOP TO THIS TYRANNY, PEOPLE. Si se puede!!
