Yesterday, the plan received the Strategic Plan Award from the American Planning Association - Illinois Chapter (APA-IL)—a tremendous recognition of the collaborative work that went into creating a community-driven vision for the future of the 95th Street Corridor.

New Recreation Center coming to Richton Park! Community meeting this Wednesday!

The Village of Richton Park Village of Richton Park and Far South CDC are excited to bring a new opportunity for recreation, connection, and community investment to Richton Park at 5087 Sauk Trail.

The proposed 10-acre development will feature a vibrant, multigenerational, and amenity-rich sports complex with new commercial and retail space along the historic Sauk Trail Corridor. The complex will provide residents and families with year-round opportunities for youth sports, competitive tournaments, recreational activities, and community events.

We invite residents and community stakeholders to share feedback to help shape the project.

OVER HERE, Amtrak !👋🏾🚆

With conversations underway about Amtrak’s proposed $900M maintenance and operations facility, we believe Chicago’s Far South Side deserves to be part of the discussion.

West Pullman has existing rail infrastructure, a strong industrial history, available workforce resources, and access to transportation and logistics training through Olive-Harvey College.

As Far South CDC continue investing in housing and commercial development, quality jobs must be part of that growth too. A major transportation investment could bring construction opportunities, permanent jobs, support for local businesses, and more pathways to build wealth close to home.

We’re ready to show what the Far South Side has to offer. Let West Pullman compete. 💪🏾
