Two guys with a Banner Banned!

WTF From WGI (Worldwide Global International) offices in Chicago has released today that the celebrated Two Guys With A Banner, Oktoberfest parade entry and Maple Leaf Parade fixture for the last 12 years, was denied participation in this year’s parade on the grounds of being cited for Public Consumption of Alcohol during last year’s 2014 Maple Leaf Parade.

Weeks after responding to an invitation to apply from La Crosse Festivals Inc., the offices of Worldwide Global International Inc. received a certified letter stating that “According to the La Crosse Police Department, John Bannon and [an adult nephew filling in for Richard Paul] were cited for public consumption of alcohol during the parade on September 27, 2014…” The letter went on to state that “Prior to the 2014 parade, all applicants and those selected to participate in the parade were notified by both La Crosse Festivals, Inc. and the La Crosse Police Department that alcohol consumption prior to or during the parade would be cause for denying participation in future parades.”

A spokesperson of WGI issued an apology and an appeal to overturn the decision was denied.
