I utterly condemn the anti-immigrant, xenophobic posters spread in the Latino communities of Waukegan, North Chicago, and Zion.
We must call out dangerous rhetoric that makes us all less safe.
Signs appearing to threaten immigrants pop up in Chicago area.
"This is a direct threat to the undocumented. This person would be telling us right here that he is ready to shoot someone," said United Giving Hope Pastor Julie Contreras.
Surveillance video from the area near Ridgeland and Jackson appears to show someone with a ladder putting up one of the signs in the middle of the night.

Let’s be clear: He’s a loyalist and DHS under his leadership is just more of the same. I will confront him, question him, and demand accountability.

Putin's attacks on civilians in Kyiv are the actions of a war criminal.
As we see the images of Ukrainians under the rubble, families mourning their loved ones, and lives destroyed by bombs, Congress and the international community must unequivocally demand a just peace.
I am clear: there is no just peace without an end to Putin's aggression, Ukrainian lands returned, and a plan to rebuild. Putin must be held accountable.

To kick-off Pride Month, I joined the 35th ward for their annual Pride flag raising event in Logan Square.
Since the Stonewall Riot, Pride Month has been a time to reflect on the courage, activism, joy, and resolve of the LGBTQI+ community.
Today and everyday, I stand with ’s LGBTQI+ community to affirm our shared commitment to build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world.

Two weeks ago, Republicans stole Congress's opportunity to exercise its authority and end the war with Iran.
This week, we will have another opportunity with two war powers resolutions. Republicans must bring them to a vote.
Americans are demanding an end to the unlawful wars and complicity in death, displacement, and destruction. And every member of Congress who claims to be concerned about our security and standing must vote for both.
