The Chicago Air & Water Show may be over, but we’re still thinking about an incredible weekend of service!

From the Gary Jet Center to North Avenue Beach, members of U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Division 35 were out in force supporting operations throughout the weekend — even when Mother Nature had other plans.

Our members helped maintain the safety perimeter, interacted with the public, and worked alongside our Coast Guard and partner personnel to help support one of Chicago’s biggest events of the summer.

And the weekend even came with a once-in-a-lifetime experience for one of our Division 35 members, who had the incredible opportunity to take to the skies with the U.S. Army Golden Knights!🪂✈️ Now THAT is a view of Chicago you don’t get every day!

Bravo Zulu to all of our Division 35 shipmates who volunteered their time, represented the Auxiliary, and helped make the weekend a success. 👏⚓️

250 years of American pride and tradition. Our Founding Fathers fought for the ideals that they wanted for a country of the people. Alexander Hamilton, founder of what would become the United States Coast Guard, and many others fought wars and political battles for the country we know and love today.

We celebrate this day like only Americans know how, with cookouts, fireworks, and boating. While we spend time on the water enjoying the freedoms we have from our Founding Fathers, let's remember to be safe, wear a life jacket, and use the engine cutoff switch. Happy Birthday to the United States of America, and many more to come.
