The city of Chicago will begin repaving several streets near the University of Chicago’s Hyde Park campus starting the week of October 19, which will lead to parking restrictions and traffic disruptions.

The affected streets will not be closed to traffic, but the work will result in parking restrictions as well as traffic disruptions that could affect UGo Shuttles.

The University of Chicago Public Safety Advisory Council seeks community input on issues impacting safety and security on campus and in the UChicago Police Department's extended patrol area. The Council’s next public meeting will be held on October 21.

Meeting topics include a public safety update from UCPD Chief Kyle Bowman, Halloween in Hyde Park, the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability's community engagement initiatives, and student sexual misconduct support and education.
