The recently concluded Council on Governmental Ethics Laws (COGEL) Conference was a joy.
In Atlanta, at the Marquis Marriott—a beautiful brutalist architectural gem.
We always return fresh with energy and ideas.

We are looking forward to the Annual Conference of the Council on Governmental Ethics (COGEL) in Atlanta! Morris’s Law of Medical Conferences* always obtains! 🤣
*this law has wider applicability.

The Board is sad to report that Dorothy Eng, who served as our Executive Director from 1991-2006, passed away this morning in FL. She was a wise attorney, leader and public servant. She served when Richard M. Daley was Mayor.
3 staff she hired still work here. She earned her JD from John Marshall Law School in 1986.
RIP, 1942-2025.

The training is scheduled, your talking points are drafted, your visuals are fun and engaging, and you have already warmed up your vocal cords! Your training “to do” list is complete, right? Yikes, what about attendance tracking? Is that your responsibility? If not, whose? What needs to be documented? How to document? Where to begin?!
Begin at the COGEL Connect session: “Training Tracking! A Data Collection Conversation.” Join other training professionals (or those for whom training is one of many hats) to explore effective methods and tools for tracking attendance in training programs.
Dive into strategies to streamline the tracking process, ensure data accuracy, and leverage reporting tools to support compliance with training requirements. Ideal for COGEL training coordinators, administrators, and even HR professionals, this COGEL Connect will include real-world examples and interactive discussions to ensure your training program can always conclude, “Yep, that tracks!”
