is a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States. Among them are countless Mexican Americans who answered the call to serve, fighting with courage and sacrifice in every major U.S. conflict, from the nation's founding to the present day.

Despite often facing discrimination at home, Mexican American servicemembers have defended the ideals of freedom and democracy abroad with extraordinary valor. Many earned the nation’s highest military honors, while far too many never returned home to their families and communities.

Today, we remember and honor those fallen heroes and all military families carrying their legacy forward. Their service is an enduring part of the American story.

What would you do with 904 books? Most of us would need a bigger house. This boy, at seven years old, decided to give them away. He built a library so other children could have access to the stories that shaped him into the world's youngest motivational speaker.

Read to me so I learn...
Teach me to read...
And I'll live happily ever after.
