The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Alderman Nugent are holding a Public Hearing on the proposed Weber Spur Trail on Wednesday, October 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) Student Union Building.
This project is a βrails to trailsβ project that will convert a two-mile, abandoned Union Pacific rail line to a multi-use trail starting near Elston Ave and Kimberly Ave (southwest limit) and ending near Devon Ave and Springfield Ave (northeast limit).
This proposed project will provide key connections in the bicycle network, including: Elston Ave bike lane, Bryn Mawr Bike Lanes, Forest Preserves of Cook County (FPCC) Labagh Woods, FPCC North Branch Trail, Sauganash Trail, and the Union Pacific Recreation Path.
The project is approaching the completion of the Preliminary Design stage, and CDOT wants to hear from you!
