As we head into DSA’s 2025 National Convention, we are looking back on what the Green New Deal Campaign Commission has achieved this year. Swipe to find out how we’ve engaged chapters, educated and trained members, and uplifted campaigns fighting for public power, public transit, and a sustainable future. ⚡️🌹

Join us to hear from union leaders, DSA campaign organizers, and socialists in office who are continuing the fight for a better future. Given the hostile federal terrain we now face, local pressure campaigns in our communities and bargaining for the common good in our union contracts are the most viable pathways for winning a socialist Green New Deal this decade.
Speakers include Kelsea Bond candidate for Atlanta City Council, Alex Brower who recently won a seat on the Milwaukee Common Council, and Sarahana Shrestha of the New York State Assembly.

The neoliberal climate agenda has failed us, and as we face down four years of backsliding of environmental issues at the federal level, the need for locally-driven movements to advance climate justice and build the green new deal has never been more urgent.
Join Metro DC DSA for an open discussion with Dr. Taiwo on these critical issues!
We’ll get into specifics on:
🌹Why local Green New Deal organizing is important
🌍 The intersections of the Green New Deal and environmental justice
💚 How explicitly focusing on socialist politics can benefit the climate movement

Repost from our comrades in : link in bio to their Wildfire Emergency Resource Guide with important updates and opportunities to help
The neither democrats nor republicans are moving at the speed or the scale required by the climate crisis. Neither party has a vision of a decarbonized future that repairs our historic and equities of race, of class, and of place; and actually addresses people's everyday concerns. This was reflected in the Harris campaign's doubling down on massively unpopular policies like continued genocide in Palestine - which is absolutely a climate issue - and new fracking and fossil fuel development while completely rejecting or even acknowledging the cost of living crisis which ultimately drove Trump to victory. dsausa.org/join

The climate terrain this decade was always going to be difficult, and our strategy to build power with labor remains unchanged. Join us and other DSA organizers this Thursday, November 14, to hear how socialists are fighting and organizing across the country and how you can join in to win a world for the many, not the few. The news cycle has moved on but our comrades in North Carolina and Florida will be rebuilding after Hurricanes Helene and Milton for months and years to come. Donate to their disaster relief funds at the links in bio, and sign the petition to NC Governor Roy Cooper for an eviction moratorium in disaster-struck counties.
We’re still in the early stages of climate breakdown, and the only climate havens will be the ones we build through networks of solidarity and community care. Solidarity at the grassroots can and must be matched by organized political power – and where socialists have organized and fought, we have turned this solidarity into real action. Socialist politicians have been at the forefront of demanding that more public funds go to hardening infrastructure against severe storm damage, building support networks that give people more opportunities to evacuate without fear or financial constraint, and fighting for a just transition that will lessen our dependence on fossil fuels and slow the warming of the earth.
We need you in this fight with us - join DSA today and start building with your chapter. Our response to disaster capitalism is an alternative built on the collective power of the working class: socialism.

DSA’s Green New Deal organizing has been oriented around an Ecosocialism that Builds—namely through our Building for Power campaign focused on expanding green public goods like housing, transit, schools, and renewable energy. We’re uniting a working class base to create the future we deserve.
But that abundant future has to be available to everyone. Stopping the genocide in Gaza must be a primary focus in our organizing for a better world, which is why we’re excited for the public launch of a new national DSA campaign: Stop Fueling Genocide.
Our comrades on the International Committee have developed a BDS campaign targeting Chevron, which is generating billions of dollars for Israel to strengthen its war chest and its regime of apartheid, settler colonialism and military occupation that is further fueling the climate crisis. This campaign offers one way for ecosocialist organizers to deepen their commitment to internationalism and anti-militarism while organizing against a climate criminal embedded in our own backyards.
Join us this Monday, Sept 23 at 9pm ET to learn more about this new campaign! RSVP link in bio.
