May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
May is a time to raise awareness, fight stigma, and remind one another that mental health is an essential part of overall well-being.
Founded in 1949, Mental Health Awareness Month encourages open conversations about mental health and highlights the importance of access to support and care. Each year, approximately 1 in 5 adults experiences mental illness, reminding us that mental health challenges affect individuals, families, workplaces, and communities across all walks of life.
This year’s focus emphasizes community, connection, and creating more good days through support—because no one should have to navigate mental health struggles alone.
💚 Why this month matters:
• Breaking Stigma: Talking openly about mental health helps normalize seeking support and reminds us that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
• Raising Awareness: Education helps build understanding about mental health conditions and the realities many individuals face every day.
• Building Community: Compassionate, supportive communities can make a meaningful difference in someone’s healing and well-being.
At Community Service Options, we recognize the importance of mental wellness for the individuals, families, and communities we serve. This month, let’s continue to lead with empathy, kindness, and connection.
Together, we can help create more good days. 💚
