Our Story
The Uniform Law Commission (ULC) (also known as the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws) is a nonprofit association established in 1892 that provides states with nonpartisan, well-conceived and well-drafted legislation. Uniform acts bring clarity and stability to critical areas of state law.
ULC members are practicing lawyers, judges, legislators and legislative staff, and law professors who have been appointed by state governments, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands to research, draft, and promote enactment of uniform state laws when uniformity is helpful.
