It was a pleasure attending the Cottage Grove Heights Community Council Annual Town Hall Meeting!

Town halls like this are an important opportunity to listen, learn, and engage directly with the residents who make our communities strong. I appreciated hearing from neighbors about the issues that matter most and the shared vision for the future of Cottage Grove Heights.

Thank you to the Cottage Grove Heights Community Council for bringing residents, community leaders, and partners together for meaningful conversation and collaboration.

I look forward to continuing to work alongside our community to ensure every voice is heard and every neighborhood has the resources and support it deserves.

Over the weekend, I had a wonderful time celebrating Labor Day with friends, neighbors, and community members! 🇺🇸💙

I enjoyed spending time with neighbors and community leaders at the 10th Ward Labor Day Parade and joining the Chatham United event hosted by Christopher Hicks.

Labor Day is a reminder of the generations of hardworking men and women who have fought for fair wages, safe workplaces, dignity, and opportunity for working families.

I’m proud to stand with working people and organized labor and remain committed to supporting policies that strengthen our families, our communities, and our future.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed me and made this Labor Day weekend so special. It’s always a joy to spend time with the people and communities I’m honored to serve.

Happy Labor Day! 💪🏾❤️🤍💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Annual Back-to-School Festival! 🎒📚✏️

It was a wonderful day filled with families, students, community partners, resources, and plenty of excitement as we prepare our young people for another successful school year.

I’m especially grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible and to every family who came out to celebrate with us. Supporting our children means making sure they begin the school year feeling prepared, encouraged, and supported by their community.

I remain committed to investing in our children, strengthening our schools, and ensuring families throughout the 34th District have access to the resources and opportunities they deserve.

Wishing all of our students, teachers, administrators, and families a safe, successful, and amazing school year! 💙📚

When our children succeed, our entire community succeeds.

Despite the weather, I’m incredibly thankful to everyone who came out to celebrate my Birthday Celebration & Reception! 🧡

Your presence and support were a powerful reminder that public service is about people, partnership, and progress. I am deeply grateful to the friends, neighbors, community leaders, elected officials, and supporters who continue to stand with me as we work to strengthen the 34th District and ensure our communities have a strong voice in Springfield.

This celebration was about more than another birthday—it was about the relationships we’ve built, the work ahead, and our shared commitment to creating safer neighborhoods, expanding opportunities for our families, supporting our young people, and delivering results for the people we serve.

I do not take your trust or support for granted. Together, we will continue moving the 34th District forward.

The celebration may be over, but the work continues. 🧡

Thank you for celebrating with me, investing in this movement, and believing in the work we are doing.

I had a wonderful time attending the Acclivus Sports Basketball Tournament at the Pullman Community Center! It was inspiring to see young athletes from across Chicago come together on the court—competing, building friendships, and enjoying a positive space in their community. 🏀👏🏾

Programs like this remind us that investing in our young people means creating opportunities for them to learn, lead, grow, and thrive. Sports can be so much more than a game—they can build confidence, strengthen communities, and provide positive alternatives that help keep our young people safe.

Thank you to Acclivus and everyone who helped make this tournament possible. I’m always proud to support organizations doing the work to uplift our youth and promote peace throughout our communities.

Keep shooting for greatness! 🏀✨

May has been a great month…

Honored to join the celebration recognizing May 6th as Alpha Day in Illinois — honoring a legacy of leadership, scholarship, service, and advocacy that continues to uplift our communities for generations to come.

As a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, I value the importance of organizations that are rooted in service, advocacy, and creating lasting impact in our communities.

Had an amazing time at the Gospel Music Festival in Lynwood with mayor Jada D. Curry and the community! The atmosphere was filled with faith, joy, powerful music, and so much love. Grateful to celebrate fellowship, family, and uplifting gospel sounds with such beautiful people. 🙌🏾🎶✨
