Since 2016, there has been a special community built around body flight here at iFLY Chicago Lincoln Park. For nearly 10 years, we watched people walk through our doors as strangers and leave as flyers, teammates, coaches, competitors, and lifelong friends. We watched first flights turn into passions and passions turn into thousands of hours dedicated to this sport. To every experienced flyer, indoor skydiver, outdoor skydiver, and member of the body flight community who called Lincoln Park home: thank you. Your dedication to flying, your willingness to teach and learn from one another, and your love for this community are what gave this tunnel its heart.
iFLY Chicago Lincoln Park is now permanently closed, but a community like this doesn’t disappear when a tunnel closes its doors. It lives on in every friendship made here, every skill learned in the wind, every memory from the flight deck, and every person who continues to fly because of an experience they had here. And thankfully, the wind isn’t far away — iFLY Chicago Rosemont is approximately a 20-minute drive from Lincoln Park. We hope to see this community continue doing what it has always done: flying together. Thank you for nearly 10 unforgettable years, Chicago. 💙
