Chickasha Animal Welfare Chickasha Animal Welfare is Chickasha’s municipal animal shelter, caring for adoptable pets, strays, and enforcing city animal laws.

We offer spay & neuter programs, pet licensing, and community education. Volunteers and fosters are always welcome to help Chickasha Animal Welfare Information

Adoption Information:
Adoption Fee: $45.00 (includes spay/neuter, microchipping, and vaccinations)
Surrender Fee: $55.00
City Licenses: $5.00 Altered pets, $10.00 Unaltered Pets (Rabies certificate is required when purchasing a City License)

Chickasha Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Chickasha, Oklahoma. Our team is dedicated to protecting and improving the lives of animals in our community. In addition to providing a safe and caring environment for adoptable animals, we are responsible for enforcing all animal-related laws within the City of Chickasha and for holding and caring for stray animals that are found within city limits. Beyond these core responsibilities, we also work to support responsible pet ownership through a variety of community services. These include a public spay and neuter program in partnership with OkHumane, city pet licensing, and educational outreach to help residents better care for their animals. Chickasha Animal Welfare operates daily with a very limited staff who are supported by several incredible volunteers. We maintain an active foster program and are always looking to partner with compassionate community members who want to assist in our mission of helping animals in need. Volunteers are welcome seven days a week after submitting a volunteer application, and we encourage anyone interested in making a difference in the lives of animals to get involved.

Meet Jazzy!

At 15 years young, Jazzy is looking for a soft place to land and a home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love. She dreams of cozy dog beds, a peaceful home, and a family who will let her enjoy the simple things in life.

Jazzy is deaf, and her eyesight isn’t what it used to be, but that doesn’t stop her from being a sweet girl who deserves all the comfort and love in the world. She gets along with other dogs and cats, is potty trained, and is happiest lounging on her dog bed and enjoying a relaxing day.

At around 40 pounds, Jazzy is the perfect companion for someone looking for a gentle, low-key best friend.

Senior dogs like Jazzy have so much love left to give. She may not need big adventures or long walks, but she does need someone willing to open their heart and home to a girl who deserves to be cherished.

Need a walking buddy? A carpool companion? A professional snack enthusiast who won’t judge your singing, your driving, or your life choices? 😂 We have DOGS for that!

This Saturday, October 24th, at 8:00 AM, come meet a shelter dog and take them out for a day of FUN!

Your adventure buddy is ready to sniff ALL the things, stick their head out the window (safely, of course!), pose for approximately 47 photos, and remind you that every single stick is worth investigating. 🐾

You don’t have to adopt—just borrow a best friend for the day! Take pictures, share their personality, and help us show the world what makes them special. Your silly adventure photos could be exactly what helps your new buddy find a forever home! 📸🏡

☕ BONUS: COFFEE RUN, ANYONE?! Our AMAZING donors provided drink cards so YOU can enjoy a drink and your four-legged copilot can enjoy a pup cup! Because every great adventure deserves refreshments. 💙

**WISHLIST WEDNESDAY!**

This week, we're asking for a little help keeping our shelter pets happy, busy, and entertained!

We are in need of **enrichment items and dog chews!**

Enrichment is such an important part of shelter life. It helps reduce stress, prevents boredom, and gives our animals something positive to focus on while they wait for their forever homes.

Our dogs especially LOVE having something to chew on! With so many pups in our care, we go through chews and enrichment supplies quickly.

🐾 BOOM BOOM IS LOOKING FOR A WEEKEND SLEEPOVER! 🐾

Boom Boom is a fun-loving 1-year-old big guy looking for a temporary foster to hang out with for the weekend, while his current fosters are out of town! 🐶💙

He’s dog and cat friendly, house trained, crate trained, and great in the car! He loves playing fetch, chewing on stuffies, splashing around in water, but ESPECIALLY snuggling on the couch with his people. 🧸

Could you give Boom Boom a place to crash for the weekend? He has made so much progress in his foster home, and we want to make sure he knows that his comfy lifestyle isn’t going anywhere 🏡❤️

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SUSIE!!!!

Some people show up when you ask, and some people are already grabbing their keys before you finish explaining. That’s our Susie! Always up for a trip, always willing to lend a hand, and always there when we need her.

Whether she’s volunteering her time, opening her home to a foster, or heading out on another adventure with us, Susie puts so much heart into everything she does. She helps carry the load, celebrates the happy endings, and stands beside us through the hard days, too. Having someone you can count on through all of it means more than words can say.

Behind every animal helped is a team of people willing to give their time and love, and we are so lucky Susie is part of ours. We are grateful for the lives she has touched, the memories we’ve made, and the friendship she brings along the way.

Susie, we hope today you feel every bit as loved and appreciated as you make others feel. You deserve a day full of your favorite things, plenty of laughter, and a little spoiling!

Adventure Day is BACK! October 24th at 8:00 AM!

Come to Chickasha Animal Welfare, meet a dog, and take them on an adventure for the day! A walk, a fun outing, or a quiet day relaxing together gives a shelter dog a much-needed break from kennel life.

These outings give our dogs individual attention and help us learn more about their personalities outside the shelter. Your photos, videos, and stories could even help them find their forever family!

You don’t have to adopt to make a difference. Sometimes, giving a dog your time is the perfect place to start.

🐱💕 FRIENDLY KITTIES LOOKING FOR HOMES! 🏡

Not every outdoor kitty is feral! We have some very friendly cats who are used to living both indoors and outdoors, and they would LOVE to find homes of their own! ❤️

These sweet kitties enjoy human attention but also appreciate the freedom to explore. They would make wonderful companions for someone with a safe property, barn, shop, or home where they can enjoy the best of both worlds!

🐾 All cats are:
✅ Spayed or neutered
✅ Vaccinated
✅Microchipped

These aren’t your typical barn cats! They are social, friendly kitties who deserve love, attention, daily food, fresh water, and a safe place to call home.

🏡 Please remember: When bringing a cat to a new property, it’s important to keep them safely confined for 2–4 weeks while they adjust to their new surroundings. Simply turning them loose can cause them to run away while trying to find their old home.
