Congratulations, NHS Dragons! 🖤💛

Please help us congratulate our newest members and newly elected officers of the National Honor Society for the 2026–2027 school year!

Thank you to Mrs. Siek for organizing our induction ceremony and for serving as the NHS Advisor.

We are proud of these students for their dedication to scholarship, leadership, service, and character. We look forward to seeing all they accomplish this year as they continue to represent Chico ISD with pride!

🍉 CTE Safety Spotlight: The Watermelon Rubber Band Lab!

Mrs. Hood’s Health Science students participated in a hands-on lab exploring the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and workplace safety. As students carefully added rubber bands around a watermelon, they observed how pressure gradually builds until a breaking point is reached. This activity opened the door to important conversations about recognizing hazards, preventing accidents, and understanding why safety precautions matter before an incident occurs.

Middle School Parents,

We want to inform you that our middle school was evacuated this morning due to a false alarm (fire alarm sounded). We are happy to report that all students and staff are safe, and the evacuation went very smoothly.

Our students and staff did an excellent job following procedures, and we appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we worked through the situation.

Thank you for your continued support of our Chico Dragon Family!

Shout out to Wise Insurance Advisors for volunteering in our HOCO concession stand this Friday! 🐉

Tiffany Jones & Rachel Howard are the brains behind Wise Insurance Advisors. After many years in the industry, they decided to open their office where they hope to provide more than just a great rate but also great service. They both live in Wise County and try to give back to the community however we can. Fun fact, Tiffany has 3 Chico ISD students!
