Designated as a Community Action Agency by MASSCAP, the Valley Opportunity Council is about people helping people. Serving the Greater Hampden County for over 30 years, we offer a wide range of programs, from WIC, Early Childhood Education, Adult Education, Senior and Veteran services, Housing, Fuel Assistance and much more. We are dedicated to providing opportunities to our low to moderate income families so that they can achieve a greater independence and a higher quality of life.

📣 ¡Nueva ayuda para pagar la calefacción este invierno!
¿No cualificas para Fuel Assistance (HEAP) porque tus ingresos superan el límite? ¡Podrías cualificar para un nuevo programa de ayuda!
Massachusetts ofrecerá un beneficio único estimado de hasta $680 para hogares de ingresos moderados que:
✅ Calienten su vivienda con aceite (heating oil).
✅ Tengan ingresos superiores al 60% y hasta el 100% del ingreso medio estatal, según el tamaño del hogar.

📣 New heating assistance is coming this winter!
Don’t qualify for Fuel Assistance (HEAP) because your income exceeds the limit? You may qualify for a new assistance program!
Massachusetts will offer an estimated one-time benefit of up to $680 for moderate-income households that:
✅ Heat their homes with heating oil.
✅ Have incomes above 60% and up to 100% of the state median income, based on household size.
🏠 For example: a household of four with a gross annual income between $103,050 and $171,749 may be eligible.
📅 Applications for this new program will open in December 2026. In the meantime, households that apply through the HEAP portal and exceed HEAP’s income limits will be considered for this new assistance.
