The mission of the HCSS is to provide a college preparatory-focused education to the youth of every race and ethnic group in a safe, academically challenging, and caring educational environment. Our promise is to sustain small school size, provide extended math and science curriculum, individualized attention, college guidance, university outreach programs, and to encourage student-teacher-parent partnership. Our mission will empower our students with the support necessary to reach their highest intellectual, emotional, social and physical potentials building on the inherent promise to aid students’ preparation for college.

This past Saturday a group of Seniors and their parents gathered at HCSS for our annual College Prep Workshop.

Students worked enthusiastically on their college essays with one-on-one help from our amazing ELA teachers Ms. Fuss and Ms. Godard.

Meanwhile, Director of Counseling, College & Career Readiness, Mr. Lewis spent time with parents and students reviewing college applications and discussing financial aid and FAFSA.

Congratulations to our Seniors Zeynep Akyuz and Tetiana Chechyna! Zeynep and Tetiana have been named semi-finalists for the National Merit Scholarship Award. This prestigious title is awarded to students who demonstrate great academic talent and scholarly ambition. It is a great honor to be named semi-finalist for this award, we anticipate great things from both students.
