Chillicothe TX Police Department local Law Enforcement

10/20/2026

On behalf of the Chillicothe Police Department, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Hardeman County Sheriff’s Office and the Sheriff for your assistance and support today.

Today was a prime example of what we can accomplish when we pull together. Your willingness to step up, lend a hand, and stand beside a neighboring agency means more than words can express. I am truly grateful for your teamwork, professionalism, and dedication to the communities we serve.

Please know that the same support extends right back to y’all. Whenever you need me, I’m only a phone call away.

Thank y’all again for everything today. It is a privilege to work alongside you.

With sincere appreciation,
Chief Beck

🎄🚔 Help Make a Child’s Christmas Brighter! 🚔🎄

The Chillicothe Police Department is preparing for Shop with a Cop on December 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Walmart in Vernon, and I need our community’s help to make it happen!

This year, I will be taking six children Christmas shopping:

🎁 One boy and one girl from High School
🎁 One boy and one girl from Middle School
🎁 One boy and one girl from Elementary School

I will not personally be choosing the children. I will receive a list of the six students who will participate.

I would love for our local businesses, individuals, and community organizations to help by sponsoring a child or making a donation toward their shopping. Sponsoring a child means helping cover the cost of that child’s Christmas purchases. Donations of any amount are welcome and will help make this day special.

This is about more than presents, it’s about making sure these kids feel cared for, supported, and remembered this Christmas. ❤️

If you would like to sponsor a child or donate, please contact Chillicothe City Hall at 940-852-5211.

Thank you for helping me bring Christmas joy to six local children. Every bit of support matters!

💡 Street Light Update 💡

I’ve been in contact with an AEP employee who now has the list of street lights needing repairs. He assured me they will work on getting them fixed as soon as possible.

Thank you to everyone who helped identify and report the outages. I appreciate your patience as we work to get our streets lit back up!

I hope y’all have a blessed day!

Bradley deserved to grow up. He deserved a future. He deserves to be remembered—and he deserves justice.

On November 10, we will gather to honor Bradley Gilbert with an evening of remembrance, prayer, and candlelight. This vigil is open to the public. Everyone is welcome, whether you knew Bradley, remember his story, or simply want to stand with those who still carry the pain of losing him.

As Chief of Police, I am working diligently to pursue answers in Bradley’s case. Behind his name is a little boy whose life mattered, a future stolen, and loved ones who have waited far too long for answers.

If you have any information, please contact Chillicothe City Hall. They can relay your message to me so I can follow up with you. You may also provide information anonymously. Even something you believe is small or insignificant could help.

I cannot promise an outcome, but I can promise dedication, persistence, and hard work. Bradley did not deserve what happened to him. The passing of time does not lessen his worth or the need for justice and answers that may help bring his loved ones some measure of closure.

His life mattered then. His life matters now. And I am committed to seeking the truth. I will NOT be giving up.

Chillicothe residents, I could use your help this weekend!

If you notice a streetlight that is out, please write down the nearest address or intersection and send it my way.

I’ll be contacting AEP on Monday to report these locations and work on getting our streets lit back up. 💡 Your help will make it easier to identify the outages and keep our community safer.

Thank you for looking out for Chillicothe! ❤️

Okay, friends… Candy With A Cop is getting closer! 🎃🍬🚓

This event means so much to me. It’s a chance for our kiddos, families, and community to come together, have fun, and make some happy memories. Seeing those kids smile makes every bit of the work worthwhile. ❤️

But I need your help to make it happen! We’re accepting candy donations and monetary donations for the bounce house and train ride. The bounce house alone will cost $475, so every contribution, big or small, it truly helps.

All donations can be dropped off with Michelle at City Hall.

If you’re able to donate, thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you can’t, sharing this post is a big help, too! I appreciate everyone who helps make this a special night for our kiddos. 🧡

Also, any agency that would like to show up and be part of this, would be greatly appreciated!! Officers, EMS, and Firefighters.

I'm also going to need some helping hands, pleeeaseee! 🙏🥰

Tonight was a tough one for our football boys. The first half was rough, but they came back in the second half with fight, determination, and heart. They kept pushing, and that’s something to be proud of. 🏈❤️

A loss hurts, but that score doesn’t take away the effort these boys put in or the pride we have in them.

Keep your heads up, boys. Learn from tonight, keep working, and keep believing in each other. Win or lose, I’m proud of y’all, and I’ll always be cheering you on! ❤️🏈

If anyone has updates on the junior high boy that was hurt tonight, please let me know how he's doing. Praying for the little guy. He took that hit like a champ! 🙏❤️🙏

October 1st is creeping up, and I can honestly say I’m excited and ready to get started as your Chief of Police.

But before I step into this position, I want to hear from you, the community.

I have my own ideas and goals, but I believe being a good Chief starts with listening to the people I serve. I want to know what you expect from me, what you would like to see from your Police Department, and how you would like to see Chillicothe grow moving forward.

I already know traffic and the red light are concerns, and those are definitely on my radar. But I want to hear about the other things, the things you see every day that may need attention, improvement, or simply need to be cleaned up.

What can we do better?
What would make you feel safer?
What would you like to see improved around town?
What can we do to bring our community closer together?

I’m not coming into this position expecting the community to work for me. I’m coming in ready to work for the community and alongside the community.

Chillicothe may be a small town, but that doesn't mean we can't have big goals for it. I want our kids to be proud of where they come from, our residents to be proud of where they live, and our Police Department to be something this community knows it can count on.

So please, give me your feedback. The good, the bad, and the things you believe need some work. I’m listening.

I’m excited for this next chapter, and even more excited to see what we can accomplish together. 💙

I'm very transparent, so I'm going to need people to speak up.

I won't to add to this post, Code Enforcement will be put into place as well. So, if you have broke down vehicles in your yard or your grass that is knee high, you will be seeing me. We need to clean up the community.
