🌟 Employee Spotlight: Angel Treetop 🌟

This week, we're highlighting Angel Treetop, Groundskeeper and Maintenance Worker at su nobi tu tsitsi (The Lodge of Change), formerly known as Melita's.

Angel has worked for The Klamath Tribes for a little over a year after spending 19 years with JELD-WEN. Her responsibilities extend beyond groundskeeping and maintenance to helping elders with shopping, medical appointments, meal site activities and other everyday needs. When asked what she enjoys most about working for The Klamath Tribes, Angel shared:

"I like working with the elders. I love it. I enjoy visiting with them and getting to know them."

Angel wants tribal members to know that su nobi tu tsitsi, which means "The Lodge of Change" in Paiute, provides transitional housing and support for tribal elders facing homelessness. The facility helps elders find stability and a safe place to call home.

She also encourages others to consider working for the Tribe, sharing that her job has given her opportunities to become more involved in the community and build relationships with the people she serves. Thank you, Angel, for your dedication to our elders and for the work you do to support their well-being.

Employee Spotlight is a Klamath News series that recognizes employees who serve The Klamath Tribes and support our tribal community.

As Indigenous Peoples’ Day comes to a close, we honor our people and recognize the Klamath Tribal youth who helped bring this day to Oregon. Their voices challenged the celebration of colonization and called for recognition of our history and our presence on our own lands. Take a moment to read how their work became part of the larger movement for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
