On Thursday, October 15, at 10:15 a.m., all Chimacum schools will participate in the Great ShakeOut earthquake drill.
Our Cubs, Eagles, and Cowboys will practice three important moves:

🤠 COVER your head and neck!
💪 HOLD ON until the shaking stops!

Dear Chimacum Families,

We are currently experiencing a driver shortage due to injuries and illnesses, which is affecting our daily bus routes.
At this time, we will be temporally splitting Route 103 and adding its stops to our remaining routes.

This change will start on Monday, October 5th , 2026. Once we have more drivers available, we will return to the original route structure.

The new routes are updated on our website: www.csd49.org click on Bus Transportation at the top of the screen. Please review the updated routes for revised times and stops.

Driver shortages are occurring across the nation, causing many school districts to make difficult decisions, including canceling routes altogether. This can leave families without transportation for their students and create challenges with work schedules and other family responsibilities.

At Chimacum School District, we are committed to our families and students. Our transportation team is working together to ensure that every student has the opportunity to ride a bus to and from school.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these changes. We know adjustments to bus routes can be challenging, and we are doing our best to minimize disruptions while continuing to provide transportation for all of our students.

Out of the classroom and onto the water! 🌊

Our Chimacum 7th graders are participating in the Long Boat Program this week. A huge thank you to the Maritime Center for providing this incredible experience for our students.

Hands-on learning like this builds a strong sense of community, sparks curiosity, and boosts academic success—all while making memories that last a lifetime.

Today is the Open House for Chimacum's YMCA Afterschool program at Chimacum Creek Primary School! This is a wonderful opportunity with local families of K-6th graders. If you are interested or just curious, this is a great opportunity to talk to staff and observe the classroom where the new afterschool program will dwell.
