Hallmark has launched a contest called "Merriest Christmas Towns," and what better way to celebrate the holiday spirit than by entering Chincoteague for a chance to be featured in a Christmas movie.
We are encouraging everyone to participate by filling out a simple form available through Hallmark and submitting it as soon as possible. Please note that the deadline for entries is August 10th.

🚗 Heads up, brave plungers! Parking is super limited — so carpooling is strongly encouraged, especially for families rolling in together. More people per car = more fun per plunge.

🌱 And because we love our beautiful beach as much as we love watching you sprint into icy water, please keep an eye out for our traffic control crew. They’re out there helping us protect the sand, and the magic of this place.

✨ New Year’s Eve Reflections ✨

Tonight, the Sparkling Horseshoe will shine above Downtown Park — a gentle reminder that before we pop the ch*****ne and welcome a brand‑new year, we should pause and look back at the one we’ve just lived.

Let’s remember our triumphs and our missteps… the promises we kept and the ones we let slip… the moments we opened ourselves to adventure and the moments we held back out of fear. New Year’s has always been about second chances — a chance to forgive, to grow, to try again, to give more, to love more.

It’s time to stop worrying about “what if” and start embracing what will be.

So when the Sparkling Horseshoe drops at midnight, let’s carry forward a simple intention: be kind to one another. Not just tonight, but every day of the year ahead.
