Early Voting, Late Registration, & Absentee Ballot Reminder

Election Day will be here before we know it, and there are several opportunities to vote early or take care of your absentee ballot.

Absentee ballots are available for pick-up beginning today, Monday, October 5, at the Blaine County Courthouse from 8:00 AM–5:00 PM. They will be mailed to voters on the absentee list on Friday, October 9th.

Late registration begins tomorrow, if you are not currently registered to vote in Blaine County you will need to appear in person to register and cast a ballot for the November 3 General Election.

Please pay attention to our Alternative Election Office at Fort Belknap. On the days our election staff are serving voters outside of the courthouse, all election services will be provided there and services at the Blaine County Courthouse will be limited. If you need election assistance, please check the schedule before making your trip so you can go to the right location.

Whether you’re voting early, picking up an absentee ballot, or waiting until Election Day, please make a plan to cast your ballot and give yourself plenty of time.

Your vote matters, and our goal is to make the process as accessible, secure, and straightforward as possible.

With the November 3 General Election just around the corner, now is a great time to make sure your voter information is accurate and make a plan for how you’ll vote.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 5
Several important things happen this day:

- Last day of regular voter registration.
After October 5, registration and updates move into the late-registration period. Voters who need to register or update their information will need to do so in person at the designated Election Office/alternative election office to receive a ballot. Late registration is available through Election Day, subject to the applicable deadlines and procedures.

- In-person absentee voting begins.
If you know you won’t be able to make it to your polling place on Election Day, you can come to the Election Office to receive and vote a ballot.

* Please remember: When the Election Office is operating at the alternative election office to serve voters, ballots cannot be issued at the courthouse when the alternative election office is open. Please check the posted schedule before making a trip.

- FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9
Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters who are active on the absentee list.

Civic education starts long before a person casts their first ballot.

If we want young people to become informed, engaged citizens, we have to give them opportunities to learn about their community and understand how their government works while they are still in school.

Today’s students are tomorrow’s voters, community leaders, volunteers, jurors, board members, and neighbors.

The foundation for an engaged community is built one young citizen at a time.
