Shepherd’s Gate Food Pantry will be hosting a FREE Food Giveaway this Wednesday, October 21, beginning at 4:30 PM! See the flyer for details.

💚 More resources available in our community:

📍 The Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC) is open at Wausau Town Hall, connecting individuals and families with storm recovery assistance and other helpful resources. WCCOA is onsite to assist our older adults!

💙 For our friends 60+, WCCOA offers Meals on Wheels, in-home services, and assistance connecting you with other resources to meet your needs.

🍽️ WCCOA is also serving hot lunches at 11:30 AM on weekdays. Come enjoy a meal and visit with friends! Call to RSVP by 10AM.

Not sure where to start or what assistance is available? Give us a call! We're happy to listen, answer questions, and help you explore your options.

💙💚 Washington County Seniors, We Need to Hear From You!

Are you still without power following Hurricane Isaias? PLEASE LET US KNOW!

We are working to identify older adults in our community who are still experiencing power outages so we can help connect them with available resources and assistance.

💧 Drinking water and shelf-stable meals are available for seniors who need them. You are also welcome to stop by WCCOA to cool off, charge your phones, enjoy some company, or simply take a break!

We want to extend a special thank you to Florida Power & Light (FPL) for proactively reaching out to our office and working with us to identify seniors who are still without electricity. We appreciate their partnership and commitment to our community!

❤️ Friends, family, and neighbors, WE NEED YOUR HELP TOO! If you know an older adult who is still without power, please let us know. They may have no way to charge their phone or contact us themselves.

Even if everyone is safe and doing okay, we still need to know who is without electricity so we can better understand the needs throughout our community.

🍽️ The kitchen is busy! Lunch is being prepared by CHS Culinary teacher Debbie Fletcher and Sous Chef Jeff Fletcher!

💧 Drinking water, MREs and Home Depot cleanup kits are available for those in need.

🔌 Come charge your devices, cool off, enjoy a meal, play a few games or simply relax and visit with friends!

Our pavilion area took a hit, and it’s hard to see damage to a place where so many happy memories have been made. But we have so much to be thankful for, especially the safety of our friends and families and a fully functioning main building ready to welcome you. 💙💚

WCCOA WILL BE OPEN tomorrow, Sunday, October 11, from 10 AM to 2 PM!

Come enjoy a meal, cool down, charge your phone and spend time with friends. We’ll have cards and other games available, or you can settle into a recliner, rest, relax and recharge yourself, too.

If the need is there, we will remain open longer. We want our friends to have a comfortable place to be.

You do not have to be a current WCCOA client to join us, and you’re welcome even if your power is already back on. We would love to see you!

We know being without power is difficult. We’re thankful for the crews working hard to restore it and for everyone who helped get WCCOA back up and running today. Your efforts mean we can open our doors and care for our community tomorrow.

💙💚 WCCOA IS HERE FOR OUR SENIOR COMMUNITY!

As Washington County begins recovering from the storm, we're working to reopen our doors and provide a welcoming place for our friends 60+, who may be without electricity or other necessities.

Our facility has power, and we're preparing to offer:

🔌 A place to charge phones and electronic devices

❄️ Air conditioning and a comfortable place to cool off

🍽️ A meal and drinking water

🥫 Shelf-stable emergency meals (MREs)

🧩 Activities, fellowship and a friendly place to spend some time

🏡 UNABLE TO LEAVE YOUR HOME?

If you are a senior in need of drinking water or emergency meals and cannot safely leave your home, please reach out. We will work to coordinate assistance and get these supplies to you as conditions and resources allow.

For downed trees, blocked roads, hazardous conditions, welfare concerns or other non-emergency storm-related needs, please contact the Washington County Sheriff's Office non-emergency line at 850-638-6111.

For immediate, life-threatening emergencies, always call 911.

WCCOA is working alongside our community partners to help connect our older adults with the resources they need during recovery.

⚡ POWER OUTAGE SAFETY REMINDER ⚡

Washington County residents without power are encouraged to take precautions to help protect their homes and electrical equipment when electricity is restored.

🔌 If it is safe to do so and you know how to operate your electrical panel, turn OFF your home's main breaker while power is out. Keep it off until utility power has been restored, then turn it back on only if your electrical system is dry and undamaged.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Never touch an electrical panel if it is wet, damaged, or surrounded by standing water. Contact a qualified electrician or your utility provider for assistance.

Unplug sensitive electronics and appliances when safe to do so, as power restoration can cause electrical surges.
