One of the best parts of Halloween is seeing all of the little ghosts, superheroes, princesses, and other characters who stop by to visit! 🎃👻

We invite families from throughout the community to join us for trick-or-treating at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Chippewa Falls. Our members will be ready with treats and are looking forward to seeing everyone’s costumes!

Happy Birthday, U.S. Navy!

Happy 251st Birthday to the U.S. Navy! Today, we extend our appreciation to all who served and continue to serve in the United States Navy around the world. Thank you for your service and commitment to our nation!

Today is National Indigenous People's Day. Please join us as we honor all Native Americans who have served in our nation's military.

Did you know that Native Americans serve in the US Armed Forces at five times the national average and have served with distinction in every major conflict since the Revolutionary War? Did you know that almost 20% of all Native American service members are women?

Native Americans have a long history of service in the US military, and WDVA extends our sincere appreciation for your dedication, service, and sacrifice.

September was a busy month at the Veterans Home! 🍂

Our members have enjoyed plenty of opportunities to get out and about, spend time together, and have a little fun along the way. From cheering on the local team at a football game and visiting The Highground, to a supper club outing, there were some great trips away from home.

Back at the Veterans Home, the month was filled with Bingo, Happy Hour, an ice cream social, coffee club, live music, military history, and plenty of other activities that kept everyone engaged!

⭐ Today is National Custodial Workers Day! We'd like to give a huge thanks to the custodial team at our Veterans Home in Chippewa Falls that works hard to keep things looking sparkling clean, comfortable, and safe for our members, staff and visitors. Thank you!

This past weekend on Gold Star Mother’s and Family’s Day, we honored the families who have experienced one of the greatest sacrifices in service to our country—the loss of a loved one who served in the United States Armed Forces.

We are especially honored to recognize the Gold Star parents within our Veterans Home. Their loved ones’ service and sacrifice will always be remembered, and we are grateful for the opportunity to recognize the families who carry their legacy forward.

Happy 79th Birthday to the United States Air Force! ✈️

Today we recognize the history and service of the U.S. Air Force and especially the 9️⃣ Air Force veterans living within our veteran care community.

Our Air Force veterans served from 1952 through 1991, representing nearly four decades of service across the Korean War, Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War, and peacetime.

We are grateful for their service, sacrifice, and dedication to our country.

🌞It is National Housekeeping and Environmental Services Week from September 13-18, 2026! We’d like to give a huge shout out to the housekeeping staff and custodial employees at our Chippewa Falls Veterans Home! We're very proud of our hardworking team who makes our Home a comfortable, safe, and beautiful place to live.

The housekeepers, laundry, and custodial staff are vital team members and have played a big part in helping us bounce back from the tough days of Covid. We’re on an upswing at home. We’ve had incredible feedback from family and residents, recent positive surveys from regulators, and a growing census at the other Veterans Homes in King and Union Grove, WI.

Today, our members, team members and volunteers enjoyed a day on the course at the Tee It Up for the Troops golf outing!

This annual event brings the community together in support of Veterans and military families while raising funds to support programs and services that make a difference in their lives.

With this year’s outing taking place on September 11, the day also carries special meaning as we remember those whose lives were lost, honor the heroes who answered the call, and recognize the service and sacrifice of our nation’s military members and first responders.

In honor of Labor Day, we asked some of our members to share what they did for work and how many years they spent doing it. Their careers may have looked very different, but each represents years of hard work, experience, and dedication.

We’re proud to share a little more about the people we have the privilege of serving and to celebrate the many years of hard work represented within our Home.
