Chisholm Public Schools (ISD 695) proudly joins communities across Minnesota and the nation in recognizing and celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day on October 12th.
Here on the Iron Range, we acknowledge and honor the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary homelands of Indigenous nations, particularly the Ojibwe (Anishinaabe) and Dakota people. This day is a dedicated time to celebrate the rich cultures, resilience, sovereignty, and vital contributions of Native American communities past, present, and future.
For our Bluestreak students, educators, and staff, Indigenous Peoples’ Day is an opportunity to listen, reflect, and deepen our understanding. In our classrooms and across our district, we remain committed to uplifting Indigenous voices, sharing accurate histories, and fostering a community rooted in mutual respect, curiosity, and inclusion.
We invite our entire school family—students, families, alumni, and community partners—to join us in learning more about Native history, traditions, and contemporary experiences.
