We had an awesome time visiting Chocowinity Primary School and spending time with the 4th graders during Fire Prevention Week!

Students learned about fire safety, what firefighters do, and the importance of knowing what to do in an emergency. They also got an up-close look at some of the trucks and equipment we use to protect our community!

A big thank you to Chocowinity Primary School for having us and to Blount's Creek Fire Department for joining us! We always enjoy working together to teach the next generation about fire safety.

We had a great time visiting Chocowinity Middle School and spending time with the 5th and 6th graders during Fire Prevention Week!

Students learned about fire safety, how to respond during an emergency, and the importance of having a plan in place. We also enjoyed answering their questions and showing them some of the equipment we use every day! 🚒🧑‍🚒

A big thank you to Chocowinity Middle School for having us! We appreciate the opportunity to educate our younger generation and help keep our community safe!

We had a great time welcoming the kids from St. Peter’s Dayschool to Chocowinity Fire Department during Fire Prevention Week!

The kids enjoyed checking out the fire trucks, learning about fire safety, and of course, getting their turn spraying the fire hose! 🚒💦

Thank you to St. Peter’s Dayschool for coming out and spending the morning with us! We always enjoy getting to share what we do with the younger members of our community!

2026 VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT FUND GRANT

A few months ago, Chocowinity Fire Department was fortunate to be awarded funding through the 2026 Volunteer Fire Department Fund Grant. Since then, we have been working to purchase and place this new equipment into service.

Through this grant, we were able to add much-needed equipment including new fire hose, turnout gear, pagers, thermal imaging equipment, a battery-powered ventilation fan, scene lighting, and battery-powered saws and tools.

This equipment will help improve firefighter safety, replace aging equipment, and strengthen our ability to better serve the citizens of Chocowinity and the surrounding community.

We are proud to put this new equipment to work protecting and serving our community.

Thank you to the Cypress Landing community and golf course for the First Responders Golf Tournament. We didn’t come in last place but it sure looked like we were trying to.

As we reflect today on the losses of 9/11 25 years ago we gathered as a family today to honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Thank you to all of the first responders and family members who joined us this for the walk this morning.
