The Chowchilla City Police Officers’ Association recently became aware of statements indicating that a candidate received the Association’s endorsement in the mayoral race. We want to clarify that the Association provided both candidates with a letter of support, but did not issue or authorize a formal endorsement to either candidate. After reviewing the letter, we can understand the confusion as someone would interpret the letter differently.
We value our working relationship with our sitting councilman, mayor and appreciate their hard work and understanding. Our intent is simply to ensure that the Association’s position is represented accurately and consistently.
